AFP, GMA foundation sign agreement

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte: Military officials and GMA Kapuso Foundation officials signed on Tuesday a deal to construct classrooms in Zamboanga City and Lanao del Norte. Luz Annalee Escudero-Catibog, executive vice president and chief operating officer of GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc., said the organization would work with Army engineers to construct a school for orphaned children of Abu Sayyaf terrorists in Zamboanga City. Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao provinces) Commander Brig. Gen. Generoso Ponio, 54th Engineer Brigade Cmdr. Brig. Gen. Anthony Cacayuran, and 55th Engineer Brigade Cmdr. Brig. Gen. Nestor Abando joined Escudero-Catibog during the signing of the terms of reference in Camp Navarro. GMA Kapuso Foundation and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, through the Army engineers, will construct a hanging bridge in Lanao del Norte and classrooms in Marawi City’s Patani Elementary School and Pansur Primary School. Under the terms of reference, the armed forces will provide security and logistics requirements for the project implementation, while GMA Kapuso Foundation will lead the implementation, cooperation and completion of the joint projects. Brig. Gen. Francisco Ariel Felicidario 3rd, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) deputy commander for administration, along with other WestMinCom officials, graced the signing.
