Weapons and narcotics charges are pending against a 24-year-old man after Surrey RCMP made what they call a “significant seizure” from a home in Delta last week.

The RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in 11900-block of 80th Avenue on Jan. 7, after a months-long drug trafficking investigation, and seized 800 grams of suspected heroin, 100 g of suspected cocaine, six grams of suspected fentanyl, $15,000 in cash and a .22-calibre handgun with ammunition.

“Drug trafficking puts the public at risk not only because of the inherent health hazards associated with the drugs themselves, but also from the violence that often surrounds drug trafficking,” Surrey RCMP Staff Sgt. Glenn Atkins said in a statement.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
