THE Philippine National Police (PNP) is on full alert, its spokesman announced on Monday, a day after Taal Volcano erupted.

Lt. Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa, PNP officer-in-charge, ordered a full alert status for all units and offices at the National Headquarters, National Support Units, Police Regional Office (PRO) 3, PRO 4-A, and National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, PNP spokesman, said all personnel were told to get ready for deployment.

Gamboa also directed all PNP personnel to assist in disaster and relief operations.

Alert Level 4 was raised over the Taal volcano on Sunday, which means an “imminent hazardous eruption” may take place “in hours or days”, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). DARWIN PESCO
