One person is in hospital after a two-vehicle crash sent a car into a water-filled ditch in Surrey Tuesday night.
Mounties are asking people to avoid the intersection of 56 Avenue and 168 Street because the accident is blocking the intersection.
Police have not said whether it was a collision, but say the incident involved two vehicles. One vehicle went off the road and into a large water-filled ditch.
When emergency crews arrived, the vehicle was submerged.
Police say the two officers who first arrived jumped into the water and pulled the lone occupant out of the car.
They performed CPR on the person until paramedics arrived to transport the individual to hospital. The condition of the driver is unknown.
Members from the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team are trying to determine what happened.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or http://www.solvecrime.ca.
