PCG: Over 53,000 passengers troop to ports on New Year’s Eve

MANILA, Philippines — Over 53,000 passengers left various seaports nationwide ahead of New Year’s Day, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

Data released by PCG showed a total of 53,056 outbound passengers were monitored in various seaports from 6:00 a.m. to 12:01 p.m. on Tuesday.

Out of the said number, the bulk of passengers were reported in Western Visayas with 12,250 passengers and Northern Mindanao with 6,509 passengers.

PCG reminded passengers to remain vigilant and to comply with the safety and security measures at port terminals and vessels.
