Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Diosado Peralta has ordered an immediate overhaul and revamp of its protocol and liaison officers and the judiciary.
According to well placed sources of The Manila Times, Peralta issued the order after receiving vital information that some of the previous officers were courting persons who were not members of the judiciary through such actions as fetching them from the airport and processing gun licenses for personal purposes rather than official.
Under Administrative Circular 135-2019, the role of these officers is to coordinate with the airports, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) on behalf of the judiciary. As such, a new set of officers was designated.
These officers were identified as Dennis Balason, Arturo Ramos and Jardel Musnit, who will be assigned to the airports. For assistance before the DFA, designated persons shall be Arnel Baldeo, Gilencio Abac and Marisa Hontonares.
For the LTO, the designated protocol officers shall be Cesar Gonzales and Roland Besmonte. The ones assigned to the PNP to help secure firearms licenses and clearances are Robert Can and Rommel Rique.
