Double whammy: Arrest warrant for another case for detained cop
MANILA, Philippines — A former police officer currently detained at the Taguig City Police Station has been served another warrant of arrest for malversation of public property.
Joint police units served the arrest warrant against former Patrolman Christian Agliam, 30, at about 2 p.m. Monday while he was at the Station Investigation Detection and Management Division of the Taguig City Police Station.
According to a report from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday, Agliam was also arrested on Sunday for grave threat and violation of the Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
He was a police officer who had gone absent without official leave (AWOL) since July 2015, according to NCRPO.
His latest arrest warrant dated December 4, 2018 was issued by the Pasig City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 71 with recommended bail of P9,000.
Police have yet to disclose the background of his cases.
