What it is: A facial cleanser from the Canadian brand Veriphy, cheekily named Ctrl+Alt+Del.
Designed to be “gentle, yet powerful” the unscented formula is billed as being able to remove, “dirt, oil and makeup for a smooth and fresh-looking complexion.”
In addition to offering sulphate-free surfactants to clean skin, this cleanser includes Cannabis Sativa Oil to nourish and hydrate skin as well as the proprietary ingredient PhytoSpherix, a phytoglycogen that reveals a “bright and even skin tone.” The cleanser also boasts arnica, green tea and cucumber extracts ti “calm” and “soothe.”
This made-in-Canada product is cruelty free and vegan. It’s free of sulfates, parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, silicones and fragrance.
What we say: This cleanser boasts a lotion-like consistency. Our tester used it as directed — one to two pumps applied to wet skin and massaged onto skin for 30-60 seconds — and felt it left skin feeling clean but not stripped. The product directions say it can be used morning and night.
She admittedly did the evening cleansing routine twice in one go due to a heavier-than-usual makeup application day and was pleased with how well the product removed all traces of the day’s foundation, powder, bronzer … the list goes on. This gentle cleanser did have a bit of trouble completely removing all the day’s mascara, though.
From the glass-jar packaging to the gold pump, and of course, the facial cleanser inside, this Canadian brand’s products are worthy of consideration for a natural-minded beauty product lineup.
