Magnitude 4.8 quake hits Davao Oriental — Phivolcs

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit Davao Oriental on Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs said the epicenter was at 44 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

The 2:39 p.m. tremor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 75 kms from the surface.

No intensity was reported.

Phivolcs said it was not expecting any damage and aftershocks. FRANZ LEWIN EMBUDO
