Pagasa: Cloudy skies, rain likely as ITCZ, amihan affect PH

MANILA, Philippines — The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Mindanao and Palawan on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 4 p.m. the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said ITCZ will specifically affect Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi in Mindanao.

Pagasa also said the northeast monsoon or “Amihan” will also cause overcast skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to Amihan, according to Pagasa.
