To honor the country’s athletes and the hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, the Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) released special commemorative stamps, souvenir sheets and first day cover of the biennial games.
The stamps, designed by graphic artist Rodine Teodoro, feature four sports disciplines — weightlifting, badminton, cycling and billiards. Each stamp costs P12.
The special souvenir sheet has a special die-cut embellishment to shape the silhouette of a basketball player, highlighting its popularity to Filipinos. It can be bought for P67.
The stamps will be available at the Manila Central Post Office starting Monday, December 2.
The SEA Games started in 1959 and has 11 participating countries, namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam and the Philippines.
The games that officially opened on November 30 will end on December 11.
