Police Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa, officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police, has ordered an in-depth investigation on the killing of a police colonel who was assigned as an intelligence officer for scalawag policemen.

“I extend the sincerest condolences of the PNP office corps and rank-and-file to the orphaned family and colleagues of Police Col. Joie Pacito Yape even as we assure them that the ends of justice will be served,” said Gamboa.

Gamboa said he has instructed the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to closely coordinate with the Special Investigation Task Group of the Police Regional Office 7 that is managing all investigative efforts of different PNP units involved in the investigation of the case.
