Two people were found dead inside a Surrey home Thursday and homicide detectives have been called in to investigate.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says shortly before 5 p.m., Surrey RCMP found two bodies at a residence in the 14000-block of 102 Avenue.
IHIT was called in to take over the case because it appears one person was the victim of a homicide.
IHIT’s Const. Harrison Mohr said this was “an isolated incident” with no risk to the public. Mounties did not comment on the identities, ages or relationship between the two people, except that they knew each other.
“We are not looking for any outstanding suspects, and can confirm that both persons knew each other,” Mohr said.
A motive for the homicide is not known at this time.
Officers from IHIT, along with the victim services unit from the Surrey RCMP are in the process of reaching out to the family and friends of the people involved.
IHIT may be in the area for several days, as officers continue to process evidence.
