What it is: A pore extraction tool from the dermatologist-backed brand Rodan + Fields.
The “professional-quality” pore tool “unclogs pores and removes blackheads in seconds for a cleaner, smoother, more radiant complexion,” according to the brand.
The proprietary tool comes with two sets of “targeted tips” to tackle tricky blackheads on the nose and chin (a more pointed shape) and general congestion on other areas such as the cheek and forehead (a broader-shape tip).
Refill tips are available, priced at $37 for eight, and are sold in both Pore Cleansing or Blackhead Removal options. The tips are one-time-use only.
What we say: Extractions aren’t fun. Unless, of course, you enjoy a little bit of pain and pressure.
But, they can be an essential step of a skin-care routine. And that’s why we were intrigued to try out this tool from Rodan + Fields.
On a freshly cleansed face, our testers applied a small amount of the included solution to the area of skin that was to be treated. Fast-drying, the solution is meant to smooth the process and help break down stubborn oil, debris and dead skin cells.
The correct pressure and movement took a bit of practise (we noticed it works best post-shower when pores were nice and open), but after a few tries our tester found the device removed several spots, leaving skin looking much less congested and more clear.
