Soldier shot dead in Taguig City

A member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was shot dead in Taguig City, early Wednesday morning.
PFC Gerald Niko Del Pilar was assigned to the Military Police Battalion when the incident happened at Bayani Road, Barangay Western Bicutan at 2:35 a.m.
Police arrested Sergeants John Necesito and Jepoy Arcilla, both assigned to the Light Reaction Regiment of the AFP. Three unidentified male accomplices fled on board a stainless owner type jeep, bringing with them the weapon used.
Initial investigation said the victim and the suspects had a confrontation that resulted in the shooting of the victim who was wounded in the head.
Investigation is ongoing, police said.
