Vancouver Weather: It's going to be a wet and windy weekend

VANCOUVER, B.C.: Saturday, Nov. 16. Today’s weather is going to be wet and windy in Metro Vancouver, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. On Saturday, up to 10 millimetres of rain is expected with wind and a high of 11 C. A special weather statement for wind and heavy rain remains in effect on Saturday. The agency says the heaviest rainfall is expected to be on the North Shore , where up to 50 millimetres of rain is possible by Sunday.

Overnight, expect heavy rain, with up to 30 millimetres expected and strong wind, with gusts of up 60 km/h near midnight. On Sunday there is more heavy rain in the forecast, but that should ease by the afternoon. In the morning there will also be more strong winds gusting up to 60 km/h, and then dying down in the afternoon, with a high of 12 C. Sunday night looks cloudy with a low of 9 C. And then the week starts off cloudy on Monday and Tuesday with highs of 12 C both days.

Today: Periods of rain. Amount 10 mm. Becoming windy this afternoon. High 11 C. UV index 1 or low.

Tonight: Rain at times heavy. Amount 20 to 30 mm. Wind southeast 30 km/h increasing to 40 to 60 near midnight. Temperature steady near 10 C.

Tomorrow: Rain at times heavy ending in the morning then mainly cloudy. Wind southeast 40 to 60 km/h becoming southwest 30 early in the morning then light in the afternoon. High 12 C. UV index 1 or low.
