John Gokongwei Jr’s widow passes away

THE wife of the late tycoon John Gokongwei Jr. has passed away, one of their daughters said in a post on Facebook. She was 85.

“Our mother, Elisabeth Yu Gokongwei, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019,” said Lisa Gokongwei Cheng.

Cheng said that their mother died a week after their father, her husband of 61 years, passed away.

Cheng said details of a “private wake” would be shared with friends and family.

Cheng’s siblings are Robina, Lance, Marcia, Faith and Hope.
