Man arrested for weapons offences following lengthy standoff in Abbotsford

A man is in custody facing weapons charges following a lengthy police standoff in Abbotsford early this morning.
Abbotsford police were called to a home on Everett Street around 11:05 a.m. for a report of a man with a gun.
A six-and-a-half hour standoff ensued with a man eventually emerging from the residence. Police say he was taken into custody without further incident.
The man, whose name was not released, faces numerous weapons offences.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
