TODAY, All Saints Day, millions of Filipinos will once again flock to cemeteries to pay respect to their dearly departed.

Most make a party of it, too; sneaking in alcohol and whatnots.

Then there are those who simply join the practice simply to gawk at people, particularly celebs who visit their dead.

Another popular star who lie in state here is Rico Yan.

The actor was found dead by his friend, actor Dominic Ochoa inside his hotel room at Dos Palmas Resort in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on March 22, 2002.

Arguably one of the most sought after actors at that time, Rico was then the on-screen and real-life partner of actress Claudine Barretto.

Jam Sebastian, of the popular YouTube duo JaMich, was brought here after he passed away on March 4, 2015 due to lung cancer.

Other stars buried at Manila Memorial Park include Helen Vela and Rene Requiestas.

The Philippines’ King of Comedy Dolphy was laid to rest here on July 15, 2012 in a solemn funeral attended by hundreds including prominent members of the entertainment industry as with politicians.

Dolphy passed away at the age of 83 after battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for years. His remains were encased in a glass-topped gold-colored metal casket that he himself bought in the 1970’s.

Another star buried here is Philippine cinema’s Prince of Action Rudy “Daboy” Fernandez, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer on June 7, 2008.

His golden-brown casket was dramatically carried there by a horse-drawn carriage.

MANILA NORTH CEMETERY

Action film star Fernando Poe Jr., known to many as FPJ, is among more famous people interred here. He died on Dec. 14, 2004 after suffering from stroke. He was 65.
