Pagasa: Rainy down South due to LPA
MANILA, Philippines – A low-pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao and Caraga regions on Thursday, the weather bureau said.
In its daily weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last spotted 460 kilometers (km) east of Davao City.
Meanwhile, easterlies and the northeast monsoon will affect the eastern section of Luzon and extreme northern Luzon, respectively, it added.
Batanes will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains brought about by the northeast monsoon, Pagasa said.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will likewise prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather bureau said extreme northern Luzon will have moderate to strong wind speeds, with moderate to rough coastal conditions.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds from east to northeast will be experienced in the Visayas and the rest of Luzon, with slight to moderate sea conditions.
Mindanao will likewise experience light to moderate wind speeds from northeast to northwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters. /gsg
