IS hot sex enough to sustain a mar­riage?

This is the question asked in “The Annulment,” director McArthur Alejan­dre’s latest film as produced by Regal Entertainment Inc., starring Lovi Poe and Joem Bascon.

Suffice it to say that it has sex scenes galore, some of which McArthur de­scribed as “very raw.”

He said, “This is a conscious de­cision on my part kasi I want the whole thing to be realistic. Sure, very cinematic pa rin siya in most parts pero kailangan kasi maitawid ‘yung desire ng mga bida ko sa isa’t isa in a way na para talaga silang young couple na totally into each other, sexually.”

“The Annulment” fol­lows the story of Sherwin (Joem) and Gari (Lovi), a couple caught in passionate romance ultimately leading to them happily tying the knot.

Apparently, it was too soon.

They will both find them­selves ill-equipped to handle the challenges that come with the commitment and Gari wants out.

Will Sherwin be able to save their marriage?

Said Lovi of the film, “It is really quite interesting, lalo na for people who are in a relationship and are thinking of marriage.”

Lovi acknowledged the sex scenes in the film are some of the hottest she has ever done.

But she was quick to add, “I’m not saying people should watch it for that. We’re not doing the love scenes just for the heck of doing love scenes. It was more about showing different stages of love, like honeymoon stage, making love when you’re angry or when you’re bored, different stages of love…”

As to the issue of an­nulment, Lovi said, “Ac­tually, marami akong natutunan. Kaya ako ngayon, more than ever, I’m not jump­ing into marriage just because so­ciety dictates it. Marriage is only an option when you find the right person. At the end of the day, you’re the one in a relationship, you’re the one who’s gonna be living that life with that other person. You have to make the right choice before commit­ting yourself to someone.”
