TransLink is proposing two new major bus routes that would connect more customers in both Vancouver and North Vancouver to Burnaby’s Metrotown.
The transit authority is seeking public input on a proposed limited-stop express service between Phibbs Exchange in North Vancouver and Metrotown in Burnaby, and on a new route that would connect Vancouver’s River District (Marine Drive and Boundary Road area) with Metrotown.
“We are always looking at our system and finding ways to improve,” TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond said in a release. “In a region experiencing unprecedented ridership growth and expecting to grow by more than a million people in the next 30 years – the needs of our customers are changing rapidly. This is a great opportunity for us to better serve our customers while managing our resources more efficiently.”
TransLink is asking the public to review the proposed routes and provide input via an online survey.
An information session will be also held Nov. 6, 4 to 7 p.m., at the River District Neighbourhood Centre, 8683 Kerr Street, in Vancouver.
