NCAA: Peralta career high helps Perpetual Help beat JRU in battle of also-rans

MANILA, Philippines–Rey Anthony Peralta set a career-high 25 points as the Perpetual Altas pulled off a 77-66 win over the hard-fighting Jose Rizal Heavy Bombers on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament.

The Altas improved to 4-10, out of the running for a semifinal but could complicate matters for Final Four contenders Letran, Mapua and San Sebastian in their succeeding matches.

Peralta, who spent most of his time on the bench in previous outings, exploited the break given to him by coach Frankie Lim after also pulling down nine rebounds when he pinched hit for Kim Aurin in the rotation.
