P5.4-M ‘shabu’ seized in Mandaluyong

TWO suspects were arrested and a P5.4 million-worth of shabu was seized in a police operation in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday. Mandaluyong Police chief Col. Remigio Sedanto identified the suspects as Suraida Samad, 43, and Joel Sumlay, 46. Both were residents of Bicutan, Taguig. Two suspects alsowere arrested through a buy-bust operation at Block 40 Barangay Addition Hills about 11 a.m. Seized from their possession were one big transparent heat-sealed plastic bag, and 10 medium-sized transparent plastic sachet containing shabu, one weighing scale and buy bust money. Meanwhile, the pieces of evidence were brought to the crime laboratory for proper disposition. Charges for Violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” were filed against the suspects.
