Widow dies in 3-vehicle collision in Isabela province

REINA MERCEDES, Isabela –– A 52-year-old widow died while another was injured when the tricycle carrying them figured in a three-vehicle collision here on Monday afternoon.

Police Captain Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson, identified the fatality as Merlita Agacite, a resident of Naguilian town, Isabela province.

She died while undergoing treatment at the Isabela United Doctors Medical Center in Cauayan City, Littaua said.

Tricycle driver Dominador Marquez was also taken to the hospital where he is recuperating.

Investigators said Marquez and Agacite were traversing the Napaccu bridge here at 3:20 p.m. when their tricycle was hit by a Toyota FJ Cruiser that collided with a trailer truck.

Due to the impact, Marquez and Agacite were thrown off their tricycle that was wrecked during the accident. Villamor Visaya Jr.
