Vietnamese sprinter Le Thun Chinh is in for a big fight with two Filipino-American sprinters in the 100-meter dash of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Le clocked a time of 11.67 seconds in the 100-meter dash of the 2019 Southeast Asian trials back in Vietnam last week.
And Le’s time is higher than the time she registered (11.56 seconds) when she won the century dash over Malaysian sprinter Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli two years ago.
This makes Philippine bets Kristina Knott and Zion Corrales-Nelson as strong contenders to unseat Le, who will defend both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash crowns.
Knott, who is preparing in the United States, has a noticeable time of 11.42 seconds during the Asian Grand Prix’s 100-meter event, and 23.62 second best time in the Philippine National Open.
And both performances are beyond the 2017 SEA Games gold medal standard.
Corrales-Nelson has recently clocked a good time of 11.41 seconds
