Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL)*, one of the world’s leading lithium-ion battery manufacturers, will be making its official debut in the U.S. with the premiere of its advanced energy storage systems (ESS) solutions at Solar Power International (SPI) 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah, from September 24–26. CATL is leveraging its leadership in battery innovation and safety and developing new partnerships with U.S. clients to distribute comprehensive solutions, and ultimately provide power for our sustainable future.

CATL is best known as one of the largest manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) in the world. It has a portfolio of high-profile, multinational clients including BMW, Volkswagen, Ford, and GM. The company’s battery technologies, including ESS, have long battery life, high system energy density, and are well recognized for their safety.

The U.S. energy storage market is likely to almost double by the end of 2019, presenting a major opportunity for CATL and potential partners to extend its current leadership in the rapidly growing ESS ecosystem across Asia and Europe. CATL will be introducing its reliable ESS solutions at the conference for the first time by showcasing its battery and rack product lines. For providing better localization and higher efficient service, CATL is developing new partnerships with U.S. integrators, who will be using its ESS products to assemble for large-scale renewable-energy power stations or industrial/home energy storage.

SPI is part of North America Smart Energy Week, the largest gathering of renewable energy professionals in North America. CATL will present a selection of its ESS solutions, including wide range battery cells and rack and residential energy storage products at its booth #2519:

“There is an increasing demand for renewable energy worldwide and the demand for energy storage infrastructure has increased with it,” Tan Libin, President for the Energy Storage Business Unit of CATL, said. “This is especially true in the U.S., and we look forward to providing its energy companies and consumers highly tailored, safe, and reliable ESS solutions.”

CATL products are well-reputed for their safety, using the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry system, which features exceptional cycle life and reliability. Its products undergo more than 270 testing items on batteries for fires, vibration, falling, and other hazards as well as simulating lifelong working conditions to test durability and performance. CATL also invests heavily in systemic design to ensure its products are safe and reliable. Its multi-level safety protection design, including material optimization, product design, manufacturing, and after sales, ensures system integrity and mitigates safety risks for application.

CATL is motivated by a belief in providing power for a sustainable future. The company will be sharing how it will realize that vision at SPI 2019. For more information, come by booth #2519 at the conference or visit the .
