1. It’s cats and dogs. You think you might know them — from YouTube videos and such. But how much do you know about them really?

2. It’s le science. Created by La Cité des sciences et de l’industrie — located in Paris, and the largest science museum in Europe) — in partnership with Le Musée de la civilization in Quebec City, the exhibit delves into the latest findings in the science of animal behaviour. In recent years, research has overturned a number of preconceived ideas regarding how animals demonstrate their skills, awareness, and intelligence.

3. It’s interactive. In this first large-scale exhibition dedicated to our favourite domesticated pets, you’ll be able to compare your own physical skills, including speed, agility, and ability to jump, to those of cats and dogs. Another section immerses visitors in the sensory worlds of the animals, showing how canines and felines perceive the world. Another section is devoted to exploring the nature of our relationship with these animals over time and their impact on society.

4. Bred to the bone. The exhibit demonstrates the wide range of canine and feline body shapes as well as the various and distinct traits found in different breeds, and where those breeds originated.

5. Superdogs. Playing as part of the exhibit is the OMNIMAX film Superpower Dogs. It follows six real-life working dogs around the world as they perform rescues in disaster areas, protect endangered species, and help people with special needs.
