The B.C. SPCA is asking the public for help to determine who may have shot and killed three small adult dogs and left their bodies in a ditch in Prince George.
The three dogs — a black, male French bulldog, a fawn-coloured female pug and a black and tan female miniature pincher — “appear to have died from gunshot wounds to the head,” the B.C. SPCA said in a news release.
“The dogs appeared to be in good condition and well cared for, so it is confusing that they would have been killed in such as disturbing manner,” Teresa Cook, the SPCA’s regional manager of cruelty investigations for northern B.C. said in the statement.
“We urge anyone who many know these dogs, or who has any information about the incident to please call the B.C. SPCA’s provincial call centre at (855) 622-7722,” said Cook.
The animals were found on Sept. 16 near the intersection of Damms Road and Willow Cale Road in Prince George. The bodies have been sent for forensic pathology to determine more details.
