Year after year, the excellent emcee, society columnist and man about town Johnny Litton celebrates his birthday with a theme. This year, our wiser and wittier-than-ever Johnny once again turned his celebration into one unforgettable and most enjoyable evening. The theme also perfectly described the celebrant — “The Greatest Showman.”
Johnny and his guests enjoyed the evening’s delectable cuisine, refreshing cocktails, circus performers, and the spectacular song numbers. Held at the Grand Ballroom of Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City, the Barnum and Bailey Circus-themed celebration was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and government, business and social sectors, who all came dressed to the nines in their best The Greatest Showman-inspired outfits. In fact, fashion designer Ito Curata perfectly embodied Lettie Lutz, also known as the Bearded Woman.
In his speech, Johnny expressed gratitude to his well-meaning friends and sponsors especially to Federal Land, Inc. Chairman Alfred Ty and Bonifacio Landmark Realty and Development Corp. President Hans Hauri for hosting the celebration.
He also expressed appreciation to the countless people who have contributed to the evening’s resounding success: Grand Hyatt Manila General Manager and Area Vice-president Gottfried Bogensperger; Marissa Fenton, Flora Chua and Noel Gonzales for the entertainment; Ningning and Pam De Ocampo for Johnny’s Greatest Showman outfit; Tita Trillo of Titania Wines for the evening’s refreshing pours; Richard Tiu for the birthday cake; Oli Laperal for the video coverage; DMARK Corp. CEO Nikki Tang for the prizes for the evenings best dressed awardees; Beabi, The SAEM, Rustan’s and Aficionado Perfumes and Personal Care for the wonderful giveaways; and Mia Lozada of Bloomwoods for the beautiful floral arrangements at the presidential table.
It was a brilliant celebration of the well-lived life of this “Greatest Showman”! To Ninong Johnny, looking forward to another fantastic themed party next year. I wonder what it will be. Happy birthday!
