One person dead in South Surrey two-vehicle crash

One person is dead following a car crash in South Surrey early Thursday.
Shortly before 7 a.m. officers were called to the intersection of 40th Avenue and 176 Street for a two-vehicle collision, according to Surrey RCMP.
The driver of one of the vehicles died from injuries sustained in the crash. No details about the victim have been released.
The other driver was taken to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
RCMP say the road is closed at 176 Street between Highway 10 and 32nd Avenue and on 40th Avenue between 168 Street and 176 Street. Police are asking people to avoid the area.
So far, police do not believe impairment is a factor in the crash.
