Man and woman hurt when small plane goes down at Salmon Arm airport

SALMON ARM — An official says a small plane has crashed short of the runway at the airport in Salmon Arm, injuring the two people on-board.

Salmon Arm Fire Chief Brad Shirley says the plane sustained significant damage in the crash Tuesday.

He says a man and a woman had non-life-threatening injuries, although one person was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

Shirley says there was no fire after the crash. He says the cause of the crash will be determined during an investigation.
