Reena Virk’s killer Kelly Ellard has day parole extended by six months

Kelly Ellard, a participant in the 1997 beating and drowning of 14-year-old Reena Virk, has had her day parole extended by another six months.
Ellard, who is now in her mid-30s and goes by the name Kerry Marie Sim, was convicted of second-degree murder in 2005.
The Parole Board of Canada decision on Ellard, who was initially granted day parole in 2017, comes with conditions that include she not consume drugs or alcohol and avoid certain people.
