The RCMP in Okanagan is investigating a daylight shooting in Peachland that left one man injured on Sunday.

The shooting took place around 5:45 p.m. outside a home in the 7200 block of Highway 97 South, south of Peachland.

The RCMP say first responders located a man suffering a gunshot wound to his “lower extremity area.” He was treated in hospital for what police said were non-life threatening injuries.

“Early indicators suggest that the incident was isolated in nature, and police do not believe that the general public is at further risk,” said Kelowna RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

No arrests have been made.

Police say the suspected shooter was wearing a black T-shirt and reportedly had his face covered.
