One dead in single-vehicle highway crash near Lillooet

Police are looking for witnesses to a highway crash near Lillooet that has left one person dead.
On Aug. 9, a single vehicle travelling south on Highway 99 south, about two kilometres south of Lillooet, veered off the road and crashed into the Seton Lake B.C. Hydro canal, said RCMP.
Lillooet RCMP responded to the incident, which witnesses say occurred after the vehicle lost control at a curve.
Four passengers were in the vehicle. Three were able to escape, but the driver died at the scene, said police.
The identity of the driver has not been released. It is not known if the three survivors sustained any injuries.
