THE National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) suspended today, Friday, the basketball games in the seniors division, along with one juniors game scheduled at noontime onwards due to the suspension of classes brought about by bad weather.
“Due to the late suspension of classes, the games scheduled at 12 p.m. onwards for Friday, 2 August 2019 are cancelled and shall be played on a date and time to be determined later,” said NCAA management committee chairman Peter Cayco of season host Arellano University.
Defending champion San Beda University (4-0) and College of St. Benilde (4-0) are supposed to battle for the solo lead at 12 noon.
Also suspended were the games pitting last year’s runner-up Lyceum of the Philippines University (4-1) against Arellano (1-4) at 4 p.m. and San Sebastian College-Recoletos (2-3) versus University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (2-3) at 2 p.m. along with the juniors match between Arellano and Lyceum at 6 p.m.
The juniors games pitting San Beda versus La Salle Greenhills and San Sebastian against Perpetual Help are being played as scheduled.
Tickets for the cancelled games will be honored on the scheduled date.
