SM Megamall is PRA Shopping Center of the Year

SM Megamall was named the Shopping Center of the Year – Large Category during the recent 21st Outstanding Filipino Retailers and Shopping Centers of the Year Awards at the Rizal Ballroom in Makati Shangri-la, Manila.

The 474,000- square meter shopping center was honored in the large category. It is home to over 1,000 stores and has an average foot traffic of 500,00 during weekend. True to its promise of Endless Shopping, Endless Discoveries, SM Megamall offers a complete and comprehensive tenant mix.

Widely known to have spearheaded the malling phenomenon in the Philippines when it opened in 1991, SM Megamall is known to have revolutionized many exciting retail and leisure concepts. Earlier these included the Artwalk and Art Center’s gallery-in-the –mall, which brought art closer to shoppers; the Mega Trade Hall; and an ice skating rink that highlighted the Filipino’s fire on ice by winning many world championships.

In 2008, the Mega Atrium was built, bridging the gap between Mega A and Mega B with exciting restaurants and retail concepts, as well as the Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord.

SM Megamall Building C, which was built in 2011, has the biggest Department of Foreign Affairs satellite branch for passport applications and renewals, BPO locator Convergys, and six levels of parking to serve customers.

More recently, has become a premier shopping, dining, and lifestyle destination with the opening of the Mega Fashion Hall, its game-changing new wing, in 2014.

The Mega Fashion Hall is also the base of upgraded leisure and entertainment offerings such as the Olympic-sized Ice Skating Rink, a fully computerized 14 lane-bowling alley, an IMAX and director’s club cinema.

SM Megamall continues to grow with the opening of the Mega Tower in 2020, which will include offices, 6 levels of parking, retail shops, an EDSA driveway, and digital art.
