As President Duterte celebrates the third year anniversary of his presidency, Malacañang gave him a nearly perfect score for his performance in the past three years.

Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said no other President has accomplished what Duterte has done in the past three years.

“In the scale of ten it should be nine,” Panelo said when asked to grade Duterte’s performance.

“Nakita mo na, ‘di mo ba nabasa yung listahan ng accomplishments niya, walang Presidenteng nakagawa ng ganun by their own admission,” he added, referring to his statement on Duterte’s third anniversary as President.

Panelo said that despite the number of the President’s achievements, the public can still expect more from Duterte.

“Kailangan natin repasuhin yung foreign investments act, yung retail trade act, at public service act. Tignan natin ang implementation ng ‘Build, Build, Build,’” he said.

“Kailangan natin bigyan ng suporta yung ginagawa nating tulong sa overseas, ‘yung mga rehabilitation center, mga out-of-school youth,” he added.

“Marami pa kaya sabi ko the best is yet to come despite na marami na ngang nagawa ang Presidente.”

Meanwhile, Malacañang said they will not interfere with the Ombudsman as it is free to perform its constitutional duty without the interference of anybody.

Panelo made the statement after the Ombudsman withdrew graft and usurpation charges against former President Benigno S. Aquino III over the Mamasapano massacre which cost the lives of 44 Special Action Force troopers last Jan. 25, 2015.

Panelo said that Malacañang will not interfere with any government body that has its own official functions to perform.

“The Palace doesn’t interfere with the other branches of the government as well as constitutional bodies. They have their assigned constitutional functions,” he said.

“They should freely perform their given constitutional tasks without interference from anyone or entity,” he added. (Argyll Geducos)
