Game Today (Univ. of San Agustin gym, Iloilo)
4 p.m. – BanKo-Perlas vs Creamline
The Premier Volleyball League goes to Iloilo City with Creamline out to tighten its grip of the second spot when it faces BanKo-Perlas today in the Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the University of San Agustin gym.
Match is at 4 p.m. with the Cool Smashers gunning for their fifth straight win in six games since losing its opener to the now league-leading PetroGazz Angels (6-0).
The lone duel is just the first of the many scheduled out-of-town matches of the league as organizers try to bring the games closer to provincial audiences.
Coming off a 25-19, 25-18, 25-23 triumph over BaliPure on Wednesday, Creamline skipper Alyssa Valdez said they need to bring their A-game as they haven’t won an out-of-town match against BanKo-Perlas in the previous conferences.
“Andun yung nerves kasi siyempre BanKo-Perlas pa rin yan. They’re a good team but I hope we’ll play better (against them),” said Valdez, adding that they couldn’t afford to be complacent.
Out to provide additional power for Creamline is Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin who continues to dazzle the crowd with her variety of power smashes.
The Cool Smashers can also count on setter Jia Morado and Jema Galanza
Toting a 2-4 card at fourth, BanKo-Perlas, meanwhile, seeks to regain its composure after two straight defeats, including a 25-23, 25-11, 22-25, 25-20 loss to PetroGazz three days back.
