Canadian Immigrant at International Metropolis Conference in Ottawa

Canadian Immigrant Magazine is proud to participate as a sponsor in the upcoming International Metropolis Conference.
The conference, being held in Ottawa from June 24-28, 2019, brings together experts from around the world to discuss issues of immigration, diversity and integration.
The Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will host this largest annual international gathering of world experts from academia, governments and civil society in the fields of migration, integration and diversity. The conference’s program will reflect both Canadian and international strategies regarding immigration, integration, diversity and inclusion. Over 1,000 delegates from across the world are expected to attend. Canada last hosted this conference in 2005.
International migration is at the top of the policy agenda for many countries. The conference will provide delegates from around the world with the opportunity to exchange research and best practices and to forge new partnerships through open dialogue.
According to Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen, “The conference comes at a critical time, as the international community faces many great challenges when it comes to migration. But also at a time when regular migration offers many opportunities to countries around the world. Metropolis 2019 is an excellent platform to carry forward an international commitment to inclusive migration solutions, cooperative government actions and lasting partnerships.”
