Government officials laud HSMA, congratulate new officers

OFFICIALS from the executive and legislative branches of government were present at the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA) General Meeting held at the Manila Diamond Hotel recently.

During his keynote address, Senator Joel Villanueva reiterated HSMA’s vital role in Philippine tourism, citing the organization’s close working relations with the Tourism Promotions Board and the Department of Tourism. He then called on the organization to continue its role in nation-building by making the hospitality industry truly robust therefore encouraging more hotel investments in the country and creating more employment.

Flanking Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat at the oath-taking are HSMA officers (from left) Carmela Bocanegra of Chroma Hospitality (treasurer), Benjie Martinez of Bayleaf Hotels (vice president), Christine Ann Ibaretta of Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila (president), Joy Demesa of Novotel Hotel Araneta Center (director of Ways and Means), Tet Romualdo of Best Western Hotel La Corona Manila (director of Memberships), Amie Villena of Bellevue Resorts Bohol (director of Programs) and HSMA chairperson Margie Munsayac of Bluewater Resorts.

Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat of the Department of Tourism manifested her endorsement for HSMA’s newly-elected officers by leading the oath-taking ceremonies.
