Cop shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Malabon City

MANILA, Philippines — A police officer was killed by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Malabon City Friday night.
Lt. Col. Jessie Tamayao, commander of Malabon City Police, told INQUIRER.net that the victim was identified as Patrolman Alex Gitug Jr., a policeman assigned at the Navotas City Police.
Tamayao said the gunmen fired at Gitug at around 7:30 p.m. along Tuazon Street. The victim died on the spot.
An investigation is ongoing to identify the gunmen and the motive behind the crime. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
