‘Stuntman’ arrested for illegal possession of firearms

MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested a man in Cainta, Rizal, for alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, authorities said Tuesday.
Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested Ryan Cabañas, 38, at about 9:35 a.m. on Monday after serving a search warrant at his house in Pag-ibig Homes Subdivision.
Arresting officers said the suspect claimed to be a movie stuntman.
The CIDG said they seized from Cabañas several firearms, ammunition, and a bullet-proof vest with an NBI marking.
The CIDG said the guns were unlicensed.
A case for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law is being readied against Cabañas. (Editor: Cenon B. Bibe Jr.)
