Jinggoy Estrada loses in senatorial race in hometown San Juan City

MANILA, Philippines — Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada lost in the senatorial race of his hometown in San Juan City after being kicked out from the “Magical 12” as shown in the unofficial and partial tally of Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).
In a PPCRV update on Wednesday morning, Estrada was placed at 13th, garnering 20,558 votes.
However, Jinggoy’s brother, reelectionist JV Ejercito was at third place with 32,851 votes.
Senator Grace Poe, an independent candidate, emerged as the city voters’ top choice for senator.
The breakdown of votes in San Juan City’s senatorial race as per partial and unofficial results of PPCRV’s Transparency Server are as follows:
Grace Poe – 36,236
Cynthia Villar – 34,923
JV Ejercito – 32,851
Bong Go – 30,409
Sonny Angara – 29,235
Pia Cayetano – 28,841
Bato Dela Rosa – 28,555
Francis Tolentino – 25,007
Imee Marcos – 25,004
Koko Pimentel – 24,009
Dr. Willie Ong – 23,271
Bam Aquino – 21,922
Meanwhile, Estrada’s daughter Janella Ejercito Estrada lost to her opponent Francis Zamora in the San Juan City mayoral race.
Zamora received 35,060 votes while Ejercito Estrada, who is running under the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), gained 24,813 votes. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
