Villar leads senatorial race in partial, unofficial tally

REELECTIONIST Senator Cynthia Villar is leading in the senatorial race, based on the partial, unofficial tally shown in the transparency servers of the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec), five minutes after voting ended for local and national candidates in this year’s midterm elections on Monday.
As of 6:05 p.m., Villar registered 93, 660 votes followed by another reelectionist senator, Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares, with 83, 258 votes.

Other candidates in the “magic 12” are Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go (73,786); Pilar Juliana “Pia” Cayetano (72,105); Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa (57,102); Edgardo “Sonny” Angara (65,916); Imee Marcos (65,816); Lito Lapid (65,753); Francis Tolentino (56,274); Maria Lourdes “Nancy” Binay (55,616); Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. (53,528); and Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito (52,097).
The tally came from election returns that were transmitted from 330 out of the 85,769 polling precincts by the Comelec’s transparency servers to the Parish Pastoral Council for Voting (PPCRV).
