MANILA, Philippines – A vote counting machine (VCMs) conked out in a precinct at P. Burgos Elementary School in Sta. Mesa, Manila after receiving and processing 282 ballots.
Voters were given the option to either come back once the machine has been replaced or they vote but will leave an authorization letter allowing the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) to feed the ballots into the machines.

But after several attempts, elections officers managed to restart the VCM.
“Baka uminit lang, kailangan ng pahinga,” said an election officer.
Earlier, 10 finger scanners also encountered a glitch, prompting the election officers to manually validate the identities of the voters from their records. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
