A police officer who went absent without official leave and two other suspected drug personalities were arrested by police during a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City Saturday.
Police Capt. Deo Cabildo, Caloocan police Station Drug Enforcement Unit chief, identified the AWOL cop as Police Patrolman Leo Castillo, 45, who entered service in 1996 as a Manila police officer.
Castillo was later assigned to the Mobile Patrol Unit of the Quezon City Police District but went AWOL in 2007 due to family problems, Cabildo added.
Police identified the two other drug personalities as Aurea Raod, 43, and Leopoldo Canibel, 30.
Operatives of the Caloocan police SDEU conducted the sting operation against Castillo and Raod at their house in Barangay 173 at around 2:10 a.m.
They were arrested after transacting with a police poseur-buyer.
Also nabbed was Canibel who was caught buying illegal drugs from the duo.
Police recovered six sachets of suspected shabu from their possession.
The suspects were brought to the Caloocan police station for proper disposition. (Joseph Pedrajas)
