A yellow alert will be raised over the Luzon grid on Friday afternoon due to thin power reserves.
In its advisory, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said the notice would be up from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
“Details on the cause to be announced by the Department of Energy (DOE) later in the day,” it added.
Available capacity is at 11,433 megawatts (MW), while peak demand is at 10,524 MW.
The NGCP declares a yellow alert when reserves are less than the capacity of the biggest plant in the grid which is 647 MW for Luzon.
