Except for a solid Game 1 performance, Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok guard Paul Lee was a disappointment the last three games, and his shooting woes were evident in a 114-98 defeat to the defending four-time Philippine Cup champion San Miguel Beer in Game 4 last Wednesday.
Lee scored just seven points in a woeful 3-of-9 shooting from the field in a setback that leveled their best-of-seven championship series at 2-2.
“Siguro credit sa depensa… talagang pinaghandaan din naman nila,” said Lee, referring to the defensive effort put up by San Miguel Beer on limiting his touches while his backcourt mates Mark Barroca and Jio Jalalon finished with 22 points apiece.
In the opener of their best-of-seven series, Lee scattered 18 points to help power the Hotshots to a 99-94 win.
But the next three games proved forgettable as he come off the bench to average a measly 8.3 points in a combined 11-of-25 shooting from the field, including 1-of-6 from three-point territory.
“I need to find ways kung paano ako makaka-diskarte sa loob,” said the 6-foot-1 guard as he looks to bounce back in today’s Game 5.
