Malacañang on Wednesday tagged the opposition Liberal Party (LP), the Magdalo and certain media outfits behind efforts to discredit the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte ahead of the May 13 elections.
In a press conference, Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo said Duterte received intelligence information that showed the LP, the “Yellows,” Magdalos and media outfits were conniving against the Duterte government.
“The President has received intelligence information that has been validated and appears to show that there is deliberate attempt to discredit this administration, as well as to boost the candidacies of the opposition, senatorial candidates,” Panelo told reporters.
“And it appears that there are certain groups who are working together to achieve this goal. This group appears to be the Liberal Party. Some personalities identified as advocates or very active in social media, dishing out anti-Duterte statements and sentiments and validated to be allied with the Liberal Party,” he added.
Panelo also said the media organization named in the matrix first published by The Manila Times on April 22 and later presented by Malacañang were also included in the supposed conspiracy.
He also named a certain “Bong Banal” as the narrator in the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos linking Duterte’s family in the illegal drugs trade.
“It’s a propaganda of these people mentioned or shown in the diagram against this administration and to boost the candidacies of the Otso Diretso,” Panelo said.
